Knowledge...

I just found this, and felt that it was really important to share this with all of you.  I know that I am a Pink Warrior thru & thru, but all cancer needs to be eradicated!  This one we have control over.  Our choices will directly effect wether we get skin cancer or not.  As a kid I know I had my share of trying to get that glowing tan, which lead me to some of my best radiating sunburns.  I finally gave up my desire to be tan and learned to focus on the health of my skin instead.  I have to admit, I still every now and again will try a spray tan or a cream that might make me a touch darker than my Casper shade of me.  However, I cringe every time I watch young "kids" go to the tanning beds, or see someone that just refuses to wear sunblock because once they get their "initial burn" for the season they will tan.  It's just something they have to get past.  I just started to think about this, for the last...( Gulp ) 20 years I have used sunblock religiously.  Sun, Snow, slightly over cast & Yes, even when it rains.  I wear my sun protection without fail.  Maybe that is one of the reasons why people really don't believe that I am 40!  Knowledge is power, learn the risks and what you can do to reduce your risks for skin cancer.  Please watch this video~ Dear 16 Year Old Me...  If we could only turn back the hands of time, would we be smarter than our 16 year old self?  XoXo

  1. I know I would have done things differently! I just didn't know any better. It is important to note that not just.the fair haired light skinned people get skin cancer. My heritage is Italian. I am relatively speaking darker/olive skinned and rarely burn, and yet I have been diagnosed with malignant melanoma! Like we always say .... Cancer doesn't discriminate!!! Thanks for bringing this one to light!!! XOXO....
