As we prepare to say our final farewell to Bridget...
Tonight, I wanted to share her words.
Each of these pieces you can find in her Blog~ My Big Girl Pants.
I have also included a video that I ask you watch.
See Bridget as she tells her story.
Beauty, Grace and a Spirit that moves us all to want to do better to be better...
Listening to her words, seeing her smile and even knowing that she was still fighting as she gave this speach.
In all her grace she never had a harsh word, instead she inspired us, gave us love and continued to Thank us for giving her more time. Time that was sadly cut all too short last Thursday night...
Bridget's Legacy will continue, we will continue to fight in her Honor and for all the Women & Men that are still in the throws of fighting and for all will...
We will not give up...
Everyone Deserves a Lifetime...
Instead, I should simply sit back and enjoy that one day.
I have to take a deep breath and remember my favorite excerpt from Matthew 6:
“That is why I am telling you not to worry about your life
And what you are to eat, nor about your body and what you are to wear.
Surely life is more than food, and the body more than clothing!
…Can any of you, however much you worry, add one single cubit to your span of life?
And why worry about clothing?
Think of the flowers growing in the fields; they never have to work or spin;
Yet I assure you that not even Solomon in all his royal robes was clothed like one of these.
Now if that is how God clothes the wild flowers growing in the field…
Will he not much more look after you, you who have so little faith?
So do not worry;
Do not say, “What are we to eat? What are we to drink? What are we to wear?”
Your heavenly Father knows you need them all.
Set your hearts on his kingdom first…
So do not worry about tomorrow: tomorrow will take care of itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own. “
Learn to give it up to God, and focus on doing your very best. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen. --Reinhold Niebuhr "What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal. ~Albert Pike" In Closing tonight, I would ask, if Bridget has touched you. Please concider joining us to remember her. We have started a paying it forward movement in Bridget's Honor... In Honor of Bridget…
Bridget has inspired countless people, with that being said, the 3-Day community has taken that spirit and is sending it forward.
We are trying to inspire others by making donations of $29.00 to people that are participating in the 3-Day this year. To Celebrate Bridget's 29 years of life. If you decide to join us, please in the note section put “IN HONOR OF BRIDGET”. It will show up on the Honor Roll, which will in turn show up on the walker’s donation page/wall so that Bridget will be remembered this year. For all she has given to others we want her Legacy to continue to Inspire others. To find a participant and make a donation, go to the 3-Day website and then “Search for a Participant.” Thank you for joining us in our efforts to fight and find a cure, because everyone deserves a lifetime...
With Love Respect and Hope...
Rest in Peace my Friend.
