We Remember 9/11

9/11/11 at the Cleveland Browns Stadium
Most everyone that you talk to can tell you where they were, and what was going on the day that the twin towers fell.  I am no different.  I was still serving in the Marines and I just came back from physical therapy.  I watched in horror as the first tower fell and then the breathless moments in between to when the last tower fell.  It may be 10 years that have passed since that day, but I can tell you that for me that day is as fresh in my mind as the day that it happened.  Today, as I drove into work I witnessed the most amazing rainbows coming down from the heavens onto what looked like a cloud city.  It really set for the tone of the day for me.  I worked at the Cleveland Brown Stadium.  Hopeful that the day would be met with reverence and standing tall with pride.  I can tell you as a Marine, watching what unfolded during the day was nothing less than heart warming.  Watching as the fans as they poured in to the stadium each one receiving an American Flag.  Watching as they tried to find a way to wear the flag.  Before the game started, they brought a huge American Flag out on to the field.  All Branches of the Service held the Flag and extended it to cover the field.  For the first time in all the years I have worked at the Stadium everyone removed their hats and took part in the National Anthem.  Vets stood and saluted it was an Amazing moment in time.  By the end of the game I was not only physically tired, but emotionally drained as well.  I came home to watch the 9/11 special.  After watching it I could not put into words what I wanted to express.  I had to take a day to gain my thoughts and emotions before I could post this.  I hope that your 10 year Anniversary of 9/11 left you with a sense of hope for the future and left you saying prayers for the past, and everyone's life that was forever altered that day.  God Bless the United States of America, I am a Proud American and Marine.
