On to a New Idea ...

Constantly have ideas running through my head.  Some I can act on and some I have to put on the back burner ( for one reason or another ).  I know many people think that I have some pretty out there ideas, and that's ok.  I am always willing to "TRY" they may not all work out, but at least I am willing to give it all I have.  Don't worry, there are more things to come.  So, hold on & get ready for a wild ride!

Memorial Day Thoughts ...

"The American flag does not fly because the wind moves past it. The American flag flies from the last breath of each military member who has died protecting it. American soldiers don't fight because they hate what's in front of them...they fight because they love what's behind them."

I found this on Facebook on one of my friends posts.  It spoke to me, so I am passing it along.  Maybe it will change the way you look at the American Flag as it did for me.  I am constantly amazed when I can learn to see something in a different light.  The American Flag is no different is this respect for me.  I grew up with the American Flag in my school, every morning I would place my hand over my heart and say the American Allegiance.  Then as I grew up through my mother's guidance and passion I became part of the CAR ( Children of the American Revolution).    I learned of my family's history and where we came from.  As a young adult, I joined the Marines and came to have a different understanding and respect for our American Flag.  Today, from the simple post that was on my friend's Facebook page, I see the American Flag and all of my friends, fellow service members and hero's moving the flag, reminding us that our freedom wasn't free.  This Marine Salutes all of those that have gone before me to secure my freedoms, that believed in those freedoms enough to give their last breath defending those rights.  You will not be forgotten or your sacrifice.  I extend my deepest gratitude to all service members for their dedication, sacrifice and constant vigilance in defending our freedoms that we take for granted, and to their families that hope, pray and support their loved ones from home.  GOD BLESS the USA!

Computer Decided ...

This would be Sunday May 29th post.  Unfortunately with all of the recent weather we have been experiencing the computer decided that it was going to take a nap.  This would be my computer to the left taking it's Zen Pose that it assumed last night... Think it is called the Sleeping Screen Pose.  Unable to connect to the internet left me frustrated and unable to post.  Yesterday was spent taking a moment to congratulate a graduate, a chance to spend a few moments with a friend that is moving away, mow a yard before it rained again and finally fight with a computer that was not connecting to the internet.  So my apologies for not posting, but it was out of my control.  I hope that you are enjoying your Memorial Day weekend.  Please take a moment to remember what this weekend is about, and Thank a Service Member for all that they do for us.

As We Walked ...

Today was a beautiful day, considering that it didn't rain.  It was hot, but in places we got a cool breeze.  Tristin decided to walk with me as I pushed Tyler in the new running stroller that was given to me by my husband.  We walked for three hours total, made three stops and had a wonderful time.  Tristin actually looked at me when we got to the top of the train overpass, and he could look out over everything and said today has been the best day ever!  I asked why? He said because he could feel big for a moment even though he knows he is still small.  Then he asked me if I felt like that with my walks.  I said I was one small part in a much bigger picture.  We had a really great talk as we were walking.  It was fun to see the kids waving and saying hello to people on the street as we passed.  They are like little ambassadors of good cheer.  People would be walking around with a scowl on their face, then we walk by and you hear ( almost in unison ) Hello... People would turn around to see the kids saying Hello, waving and people would smile, or say something back.  It was pretty cool to see how a little gesture can make a difference.

ALOHA PIZZA

1  Package of pizza dough  (we made ours in the bread machine )
1/2 Tsp  added to the pizza dough of Italian Seasoning ( Pampered Chef )
 1 cooked Chicken Breast  ( Diced )
 2 Cups of Mozzarella Cheese
1 Whole Pineapple  ( We ate about 1/4 while talking and making the pizza )
3 to 4 stalks of Green Onions  ( White part cut into slices & the green part
     cut into slivers, long ways)
1  Bottle of Teriyaki Sauce ( Pampered Chef )
 2  Cloves of Garlic
 2  TB of Olive Oil

We used our Large bar pan ( stone wear ), added a touch of olive oil to the bottom of the pan.  Then taking the dough we spread it all over the pan using the ( baker's roller ) which I might add is pretty handy.   After rolling the dough out we spread olive oil and the garlic (that we crushed in the garlic press) brushed it all over the pizza using a silicone brush.  Once we were done with that we used the brush again to spread some of the Teriyaki sauce all over the bottom of the pizza.  Then we took the mozzarella cheese and spread that all over the pizza.   After that we took the chicken and tossed it over the top of the pizza.  We then placed the pizza into the oven set at 400 degrees, for about 20 minutes.  We then took out the pizza,  put our fresh pineapple and whites of the green onion over the top with some slivers of green onion stalk as beautiful tasty garnish.  A little more sauce sprinkled over the top and there you have it.  One of the best tasting on the light side of pizza, Pizza's!

Giving it my Best Shot ...

I want to Thank each and every one of you that have come out to show me your support with the FORD Warriors in Pink Contest.  I have met a most valuable advisory in this contest, and it has been a challenge.  I have to give Ray Asuncion her due.  If she was as aggressive with her fight with cancer as she has been in this contest, it is no wonder why she has now been cancer free for eight years!  I think that she has a great concept, and I would even enjoy to see her perform some time.  I am not giving up the fight I just had to acknowledge my fellow battle buddy. As I stated in the beginning I was just thrilled to be picked for the final four.  I don't know how many submissions were sent in, but I am sure it had to be quite a few.  No matter how tomorrow turns out, I am a winner!  I have wonderful family and friends that love and support what I am doing.  No contest can truly measure that.  It would be great to 'win", but my fight will continue until the ultimate victory is won.  When we have won our battle against cancer.   Our children and their children and future generations only can read about cancer in their history books!  Victory will eventually come not by one battle, being fought by one individual, but by all of us joining together and fighting together to eradicate cancer.

Mother Nature at her Worst...

Sick to my stomach with all the stories of tornadoes swirling around us here.  We have had two close calls in the past few days.  Right now we are waiting to see if this next one passes.  As I write this there is lightening all around.  I can't describe this other than you can feel the noise out side.  Our boys are afraid to fall asleep and I am getting one nauseating  migraine from the stress of it all.  I send my sincerest condolences and prayers to everyone that has been effected by these recent tornadoes.  As I sit here typing I am  in awe of the power that mother nature has and can unleash upon us.  We have had so much rain here lately, much more than usual.  I will be interested to see what tomorrow brings.  Fingers Crossed and Prayers Up.

Someone Pinch Me!

Well, Crazy Pink 101 seems to be working well.  What started out as me trying to find a way to raise money for my Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure events is now part of a contest.  A contest that FORD is sponsoring.  Ford Warriors in Pink has been running a contest.  They have different symbols that represent Warriors in Pink.  I chose to represent "WAR PAINT".  From now till Friday, you can go and vote for your favorite picture.  I am hoping that you will pick mine and share the link with others.  Ford Warriors in Pink  Once you like their page, then you can go to the Warriors in Pink tab on the left hand side of the page, click it then find the picture of me pushing the PINK Lawnmower and Fingers Crossed, Prayers up.  Friday we will be Celebrating in Shades of Pink!!! Thanks for all of your Support and feel free to send all your family and friends!

Off Day ...

Unfortunally, I fell asleep before hitting the "magical" hour to have this post with the stamp of Monday.  ( Sorry ) I am fighting a migraine headache today.  Not sure if it has anything to do with the weather, but I will be resting.  Good thing that Mondays are a non- training day for me.  Taking care of things that have to get done, other than that, it is off to rest for me.

I will leave you with a Quote~
I don't believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be.

I am a Pink Warrior ...

Just incase you had any DOUBTS, I will now set your MIND at ease.  I am a PINK WARRIOR, 100%!  I bleed pink, and the tears I cry are shades of PINK.  I will not be DETERRED by people that do not understand, or have the lack of compassion to comprehend.  I will not fight with you, as I do not FIGHT for you.  If you have ever personally been touched or know someone that has been TOUCHED by cancer, be it breast or any other kind, you can understand why I go to the lengths that I do.  I BELIEVE in what I am doing with my whole HEART.  This is not a passing fancy or to gain personal attention or benefit.  This is about FIGHTING for people that I know, have known and people that I have never met.  I previously fought in the Marines to PROTECT people's FREEDOM.  So, why is it so hard to understand that I now fight to help SAVE a LIFE?  I will NOT give up, or GIVE in.  This is a BATTLE that I want to FINISH.  Before it so DEVASTATINGLY takes another MOTHER, FATHER, FRIEND or PERSON that is someone else's EVERYTHING.  If you don't UNDERSTAND I will HELP you to.  If you want to WALK with me, I will slow down so that we can walk TOGETHER.  If you have the DESIRE to make a DIFFERENCE, I hope that I can somehow INSPIRE you.

Taking a Shot at Cancer...Year Number 2 ...

Tonight I was at High Tide Tavern at Geneva on the Lake.  I was there serving Jell-O Shots.  "Taking a Shot at Cancer",    Had a great time and it turned out much better than I expected.  It was great to see Chris and a little earlier, Andy.   I almost sold out of all of the jello shots!  So,  me being very proud of everything.  I just wanted to send out BIG HUGS to all of my family and friends that came out.  Way tired!  feeling like I earned a nice fluffy bed to curl up in.  I am beat!  Sweet dreams all!  Hope to see you in the morning!

Fantastic Foodie Fridays... *Chili Pepper Chicken Breasts & Fresh Fruit Salsa*

Well, in light of the fact that last week I didn't post a recipe, this week I will post two that work really well together!  Plus a little ~Bonus~
A wonderful summer meal ( and healthy too ).  Boneless, skinless breasts are rubbed with a spicy chili/ lime paste, and then marinated before cooking.  This ensures the chicken will be juicy and succulent when cooked to the higher internal temperature that chicken demands.  Serve topped with the fruit salsa.

Chili Pepper Chicken with Kiwi~ Mango Salsa

~Chili Pepper Chicken Breasts~

4 Boneless/ Skinless Chicken Breasts
2 TB of Water
2 tsp. Medium Chili Powder
1 tsp. Dried Mexican Oregano
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp. Black Pepper
1/2 tsp. Powdered Ginger
1/2 tsp. Ground Cumin
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 TB Lime Juice ( or One Lime)

Mix the water with all of the seasonings except the salt.  Let stand for 2 minutes.  Place the chicken in a bowl, and then sprinkle with the salt and lime juice ( cut the lime in quarters to get the most juice).  Rub both sides of the chicken with the chili paste, cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap, refrigerate 1 hour for best flavor.  Twenty minutes before cooking, light a pile of coals big enough to be two deep when spread out underneath the 4 pieces of chicken.  Wait 15 minutes; the coals should be grey.  Spread the coals out evenly, and then put the top rack on a minute before starting the chicken ( this will give the breasts nice hatch marks).   Cook, covered, 8-10 minutes.  After two minutes, peek under the chicken.  If it is quite brown, flip it and close the grill vent half way.  Turn the chicken twice for even cooking and color.  Remove the chicken from the grill; let it rest a minute, then top with the fruit salsa.

Prep. Time 5 Minutes Plus Marinating Time
Cooking Time: 10 Minutes
Serves 4

Fresh fruit makes great salsa all summer long, on chicken, fish and chops.  Mix sweet and tart fruit.  If there are no mangoes, use a peach.  If you don't have a pineapple, use an orange or use whatever fruit is looking for great flavor.

~Fresh Fruit Salsa~

3 TB White Wine Vinegar or Raspberry Vinegar
1 TB Brown Sugar
1 Cup Chopped Mango, Cantaloupe or Peach
1 Ripe Kiwi, Pealed and Chopped
1 Cup Fresh Pineapple, Chopped, ( or an 8oz. can of Crushed Pineapple, Drained)
1/2 Cup of Strawberries, Chopped or one ripe Papaya
1/4 Cup Chopped Green Onions
1 TB Fresh Cilantro, Chopped
1 tsp. Whole Cumin Seeds
1 Pinch of Salt

In a small bowl, combine vinegar and brown sugar, blend well.  In a medium bowl, combine the fruit, green onion and cilantro, mix well.  Crush the cumin seed lightly with a rolling pin or the back of a spoon.  Add to the vinegar mixture along with a pinch of salt.  Stir, then pour vinegar mixture over the fruit and mix gently.  Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.  The salsa tastes best after an hour in the fridge, but don't make it too far ahead of time, as the fruit will get quite soft.

Prep. Time 10 Minutes
Cooking Time: None
Yield: about 3 Cups
~BONUS~ Recipe

To Mow, To Mow...It's of to Mow I Go....

Three yards in one day.  Whew, makes it especially challenging when the yards are still wet, and some of the yards that I mowed their grass was six inches high!  Yup, I got in my training miles and cardio!  I hope as the weather gets better and that the word gets out so I can mow more lawns.  It's fun to see the look of confusion when people see me out there pushing a pink lawn mower.  I can say that I am more than ready for bed tonight and feel like I accomplished a lot today.  I hope that me being out there pushing the pink mower will raise awareness and generate many donations.  Plain and Simple...  Cancer Sucks!  I will do everything I can to help wipe it out!  I want the only cancer that our kids, and future generations know about is learned through reading about it in their history books!

Rain, Rain go Away!

Ok, if this picture happens to offend anyone I will extend my apologies now.  However, with that being said I picked this particular picture due to the fact that 36 out 48 days here in Ohio it has rained!  I am so over the rain I can't stand it!  Tired of the dreary grey sky's and the cold tempatures that are going hand and hand with the rain.  It get's harder and harder to do longer walks on the treadmill.  I have tried my best to keep going, but it is increasingly getting harder.  I am going to jump start my training.  Tonight I had a meeting with Scott over the phone.  After the conversation it was "official" I will be a training walk leader for the 2011 year.  I have to make some training routes and figure out some logistics that go along with the position, but I think it will be fun, a challenge and a chance to see another side of the 3-day experience.

It's all about the Puddles!

If your wearing waterproof boots and you see a big puddle, you pretty much have to walk through it.  It's your chance to get back at all of those puddles that you thought were solid ice.  You quickly learned as your foot was swallowed and your shoe filled with slush.  One of the greatest joys in life is wearing huge waterproof boots, then marching through the ankle deep puddles with reckless abandonment.  It's like having a really unimpressive superpower.  You might be scratching you head asking why I just put all of that into my blog.  Well, here in Ohio it is raining and has been raining for days.  Not just a sprinkle here or a raindrop their, but nonstop, cold rain is what we have here.  So I decided to go jump in a few puddles today as I took a short training walk.  Thought that looking like a drowned rat and being cold just wasn't cool on any level.  So, home I went to dry off and enjoy my temperature controlled environment.  Snuggled down in my blanket and had warm soup to chase away the cold chill.  Come on warm weather!  Missing my sunshine!

Get out there and Live!

I think sometimes as people we forget that we have to participate in our lives to effect and affect change. We are responsible for our choices, which can have positive or negative results, but we have to own our choices. As Kirk Franklin's new song says "Today is a new day, Smile!". Heads up people it's not over yet, claim it and own it!  My girlfriend Dana Myers, had this posted on her Facebook today.  ( I changed it a little )  I decided that it would be fitting to have as my blog tonight especially seeing, that we have a new spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Events, Dr. Sheri Phillips.  Welcome to the PINK FAMILY!  We are a bunch of women and men on a mission to walk until there is no need for us to.  You will see some of the craziest outfits and coolest T-Shirts EVER!  We are dedicated to make a change and a difference.  I have met some of the most creative, loving and sensational people ever, just by walking.  As ugly as cancer is, I have met some of the most beautiful people.  I have always been one to take a challenge and run with it.  The 3-Day for the Cure and now the 5K~ Race for the Cure that are both Susan G. Komen events are no exception.  I hope that our new spokes woman feels the love that this community reverberates.  If you ever go to one of these events, even as a spectator, you will be touched.  I challenge each and every one of you to actively participate in your life.  There are no dress rehearsals for this one!  Enjoy the Journey and don't be afraid to go out and try new things, meet new people and maybe, just maybe touch a life.  XoXo

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

Today we went to Progressive Field, in Cleveland to be part of the Human Pink Cancer Ribbon on the Field.  Too bad the weather decided not to cooperate for the event.  We got rained on as we stood in the outfield.  It was fun to go out and look up into the stands and see all the pink.  We stayed for a while but it was just too cold.  45 degrees with the wind whipping, felt like 20 degrees.  It was great to see and catch up with some of my PINK family from last year.  I got to hear about all that has been going on in their lives, as well as getting to meet some new friends.  The game after being delayed for a while finally got under way, only to be called due to the weather.  After we got home we heard on the news that we should hold on to our tickets, as they are going to let us use them again for another game!  So, we will go back at a later time when the weather wants to play nice.  No one should go to a baseball game and have to be wrapped in a down comforter!  That's what the Brown's Stadium is for.  LOL

Race for the Cure

This is Actually Saturday's May 14, 2011 post.  We had a wonderful time in Columbus, unfortunately I did not have access to the internet which is a problem when you try to write a daily blog.  I had never been to a Race for the Cure before, it was nothing less than Amazing!  Last count of people in attendance was 83 Thousand!  There were all types of cool tents out for different vendors, ( My personal favorite was the FORD Warriors in Pink )  I got to see the Black Mustang with Pink Detailing and I LOVED it!  I decided to get an Airbrushed Tattoo from the tent so, naturally Tristin & Tyler wanted one too!   It was interesting to see which one they picked, what it meant and where they wanted it placed.  Good times had by all.  Tristin decided to walk the 5K with us at the last moment.  We had a great walk.  It was nice to be able to spend that time with Ashleigh as we don't get to spend a lot of time together.  After the walk we caught up with Chad's sisters and Chris at "Knead".  I thought I lost my camera, so I ran 8 blocks back to find out that I had left my camera in the car... Oh well, got in a few more miles in the process and had a touching moment.  I met a man named Carl that was selling papers on the street.  I was so flushed from running he reached into his pocket and gave me a dollar to get a drink.  I refused, but he continued to insist, not wanting to be rude, I took the dollar and thanked him.  We chatted for a bit, in the conversation he told me how cool he thought it was that I was so involved in the 5K & 3-Day events.   I later found out that Carl was homeless.  I felt awful to have taken the dollar from him.  We worked our way back to the spot I met him at and he was gone.  So, I just wanted to say Thank you to Carl, for reaching out to someone else in need.  I think that's beyond Cool!

Fantastic Foodie Fridays

Yesterday couldn't post because the blog site was down.
Tonight we are in Columbus after a rough drive in the pouring down rain.
I have no connection to the Internet here except thru my phone.
So, with that being said I owe you a recipe that I will post after the 5K.
Sweet Dreams All...

Riddle Me This...

What do you get if you take    ( 3 )  Lawn Signs, ( 2 ) Cans of Spray Paint & a Lawn Mower?  Well, check out the photo's...This would be my latest idea on how to get Breast Cancer Awareness, Raise Funds for the 3-Day and get in Training Miles.  I have to take a moment and Thank all the people who helped to make my idea a reality.  First, there is "Here's Your Sign" in Kingsville, they donated the 3 lawn signs.  Then there is the Mower that was donated by Kray's Feed in Kingsville.  Lastly, after I spray painted the lawn mower a lovely shade of Watermelon Pink.  JR Tubbs from FX Tattoo's in Ashtabula, put the finishing touches on for me.  I can't Thank these People Enough for their Generous Donation of Time, Talent and Items as well as their Support and Belief in my "Out of the Box" Ideas.  From a Grateful Heart...  I Thank You!

It's here, it's here...

Feeling like a kid getting my first race number... I got my package in the mail today for the Columbus ~ Race for the Cure 5K.  I can't believe that it's already here!  So excited, I have never been to Columbus or participated in the Race for the Cure before.  I have my lucky "5" right in the middle of my race number.  I am really looking forward to doing this with my niece, Ashleigh.  I'm sure that we will be taking loads of pictures and I can't wait to share this experience with my family.  Kinda like a tiny 3-day that my kids can go to and enjoy the experience.

Slow & Steady...

As much as I would like to say that I am quick as a bunny to get things done, I am realizing that I am more like a turtle.  Slow, Steady, Staying the course and Deliberate.  I have a goal, and to get to where I want to be, I have to take it one day at a time.  I didn't get to where I am today over night, it took many years to get here.  So, knowing that, I need to have the same logic and say that my goal lays before me.  I will take steps everyday to get me that much closer to it.  Today was one of those days that gages your resolve.  How much do you want what you want?!?  I determined, pretty darn bad!  In the next few days I will share with you what I am doing and what I have been doing.  All I can say at this point is, I will walk the walk as I have talked the talk.  If you thought I was crazy before...  Well, you ain't seen nothing yet!

A Moment to Say Thank You to My Hero...

This day is dedicated to Mother's every where.  You don't always have to have had a child to be a Mother.  There are some women who never have  had children of their own, but gracefully come into your life and treat you as their own.  There is the man who pulls double duty to be both the caring Mother and Daddy too.  The single Mom that tirelessly gives of herself in so many ways to make sure that you know you are loved.  The Mother that did all she could but, lost her child way too soon.  This day is dedicated to all of you and so many more that I may have forgotten your situation, but not the love that you have sent out into the world...  So here is to all the Mother's that have been there thru thick and thin.  Have been there for you, to wipe your tears and share in your victories.  Would drop everything just because she knew that you really needed her there.  For always having your best interest at heart.  Standing back, to let you make your own decisions, no matter how much she didn't agree, and it hurt her to watch.  When the call came in that it all fell apart, she was there to hold you and your broken heart as you worked to mend it.  Here is to all the Mother's in our life that have had a hand in shaping our lives.  The unconditional love, support and tireless hours put in.  For making a house a home, and for making a meal more than just a way to fill your tummy.  Thank you for every sacrifice that you have given, so that we could have it better.  I will never be able to repay you for all you have done for me in my life, but I wanted to take a moment out to let you know that you will always be my Hero, for so many more reasons than I could ever write about.  Please know that each reason is etched in my heart as you will always be.  I Love You...

Place your Bets...

I was invited a few days ago to spin the wheel at the ADL Banquet that was held tonight.  What Fun!  I got the chance to explain to people about the Susan G.Komen 3-Day for the Cure as well as the Race for the Cure.  What my shirt design means and the opportunity to sell them.  Amazing time! Great group of people and lots of fun.  Arrived at 3:00 and found I was overdressed for the event.  So, quick change and wall-a!  Stayed till almost 9:00.  I was asked to come back next year!  I would love to.  I wasn't sure that it was going to work, as I had some pretty high rollers, but it all worked out and the group was very generous.  They gave me a donation at the end of the night on top of the sales I made.  THANK YOU & I look forward to next year!

Fantastic Foodie Fridays *Drunk Citrus Chicken*

This is my own recipe...  I never really cook with exact measurements, I believe in playing with flavors & amounts till you get what works for you.  This one is fun & yummy.  Don't worry the alcohol will burn off.

Ingredients:
Chicken ( I used 4 breasts skinned and all visible fat trimmed off )
Limes  ( 2 Juiced with pulp )
Lemons ( 2 Juiced with pulp)
Oranges (2 Juiced with pulp)
Captains Morgans Parrot Bay Key Lime Rum
( 3/4 cup )
and a Dash of Salt

I put all of these into a Ziploc bag and let it marinade for a day or two.  I usually take a fork and poke holes in the chicken.  I take the chicken out of the Ziploc, and grill it up on the Big Green Egg.  I serve the chicken with a fruit salad and a mixed green salad with a raspberry walnut vinaigrette.  If you want it to be a little more tropical you can use a little coconut milk and pineapple rings in the recipe.  It's light meal and tastes wonderful.  I hope you enjoy it!

When you are done with the Limes, Lemons and Oranges you can put them in your garbage disposal and grind them up for a burst of fresh citrus in the kitchen.

Fueling the Training...

Now that I am back to training, my diet is changing back into clean eating.  Tonight grilled on the "Big Green Egg".  Had raspberry chicken with a side of grilled onions.  Then a nice side salad with lemon water to finish it off.  As I get more into my training I leave my "comfort" foods behind.  I have a goal that I am working towards, not just getting ready for the 3-Day events.  I want to be able to wear the size I was in prior to having kids.  If I meet that goal, I am going to do a photo shoot to celebrate my new look.  Who knows...I might even cut off my hair to go with my new look...Stay tuned...

Welcome Home...

For weeks I have wanted to get out side and walk, the weather this year has been less than helpful in this matter.  Today it was a beautiful 45 degrees.  Ok, well at least the sun was out.  As you can see the road was happy to see me out and walking around.  Love my new shoes, but they need a little more breaking in or my feet need to get a little tougher.  Have a few hot spots that I found today while on my walk.  Ten days away from going to Columbus to participate in the Race for the Cure which is a 5K.  I am excited to go and see a new part of Ohio I have never been to, while getting the chance to spend time with my niece.   Felt good to get out in the sunshine today and get some miles in.  Back to training... =)

Just Pull the Plug ...

I am officially out of order!  I am taking a break from the computer other than writing my blog.  I have basically lived on the computer for the last four days straight.  I need to get in gear with my training.  I have really neglected my training so that I could raise funds to do the walks in Cleveland and Arizona this year with DC or ATL in the toss up, for if I go for three.  Last year I was left scrambling to raise $900.00 to finish out my $4,600 that I pledged to get donated for walking in Cleveland and Washington DC.  I found it difficult to do a walk that I had not raised all the money for ahead of time.  It was a weight resting on my shoulders that I could not shake until I had raised the total amount.  I swore I would never go through that again.  This year I have been so focused on raising the funds that I have done the exact opposite.  I have trained some, but not near what I need to be doing.  I find that between the weather and all the things I have been doing, when I lay down now, it's lights out!  No insomnia problem here!!!  I have found a new level of exhaustion and it is not one that is physical, but one that is mental.  I find that I have been getting more migraines with blurry vision, accompanied by nausea.  I am hoping that with concentrating efforts on my training that they will lessen, as will the stress.

From Behind the Curtain...

I never realized all the work that went into doing an on line auction!  WoW!  I have spent almost the entire day fielding questions, answering e-mails, trying to collect all the information and get it into a spread sheet... I have discovered a whole new type of exhaustion.  I have hardly left my computer all day, except to tend to nature's call and my tummy rumblin'. I am constantly Amazed by people and their kindness & generosity.  We have had a few vendors that offered to make an extra item or two to satisfy our bidders that didn't win the item that they had their heart set on.  To top it off they are donating the proceeds back to the Auction!  I am left in awe and wonderment.   It makes some of the darkness not seem so dark.  I hope that you will show all of our donors love.  When you find yourself in the market to buy a gift, go check out the wonderful things that each vendor has to offer.  Each and every item is made with love.
Robyn's Ribbons Anyone else bid on the Alpha-Pink-Omega Auction- Benefiting the SGK that likes Robyn's Ribbons? I would like to send you a free skinny mini headband to show my appreciation for your support. You didn't have to win the item to win a skinny mini from me. ♥  Another post:  Just raised another $60 for SGK through the "second chance" blankets I offered from  Eggo in the Oven - I ♥ my fans!!!!!  Sandi Severi~ Graciously donated another one of her Cherry Blossoms print taken in Washington DC this year.  No words can properly express my feelings.  So with a humble heart all I can say is... "THANK YOU, TO EACH & EVERYONE OF YOU THAT MADE THE AUCTION A SUCCESS!"

We had an Amazing turn out for the on- line auction.  We hope that everyone had a great time and that the winners will enjoy their winning items.

Thank you to every donor for helping us with the auction.  We couldn't have done it with out you!  Well, it has been a long road getting this all ready & maintaining it, but we are very happy with the end results!  I Can't Thank You enough for all of your support, as I try new ways to fundraise, to raise money for more 3-Day walks.
